1904 St. Louis Worlds Fair
Chester White Hog Shows
The Chester Whites were also recognized at the fair, though not in the caliber of some of the other breeds. The numbers in the winner listings suggested some classes were, however, fairly large. The showing consisted of 22 exhibitors and 362 head of Chester Whites.
All-in-all, the show was said to be of excellent quality, especially towards the end. One class had 28 hogs in it, making it very difficult for a single judge to see all of the animals, and compare them. A problem arose when an associate judge was called in for some of the classes.
