Bronaugh Fall Festival

The early years.

The Bronaugh Fall Festival is always held on the last Saturday of September. It starts with parade at 10 that morning. I came upon some early Fall Festival photos and decided to add them here. The black and whites are from 1950 and 1952. The colored photos are from 1960. I'd like to add some more photos of the very early (pre-1960) Fall Festivals. If you have some you can share, let me know.

When did Bronaugh start having Fall Festivals? Most agree that the name and current format for the Fall Festival was suggested by Marion Irwin and was begun in the late 1940's. However, Bronaugh had festivals of one kind or another long before that. The photo to the left is from 1919 or 1920 and shows Marjorie Noel who was the winner of the baby contest. Marjorie was photographed on a table on the sidewalk on the south side of Main Street (west end).
