Susan Harrell and Dr. John Turner

Fayette and Franklin County, Indiana

Susan Harrell was a daughter of pioneer, Chester Harrell and his second wife Betsy Stevens and was born about 1803. She married Dr. John Turner on 23 May 1833 in Franklin County.

The 1850 Franklin County census listed the family:

Samuel Huddleston wrote of his 1861 visit to visit another sister to his Grandmother Brown, Aunt Susan Turner: "Her husband was Dr. John Turner, a good and very first class citizen of his town and county. Aunt Susan was the only realy uncompromising Calvanistic Baptist in the relationship. The others had allowed their children to drift away from what had become a very unpopular, and to thinking people of this day,a very unwise and unchristian religion and they were tending toward Methodism."

The Turners are apparently not buried at any of the Fairfield Cemeteries. If anyone knows where they are buried, I would like to add that information.
