Planning for Bushwhacker began in the late 1970's. The Missouri Department of Conservation purchased two large ranches southeast of Bronaugh. One of the ranches was native prairie. The other had more timber. In the early 1980's, construction began on a lake on the eastern ranch. My great-uncle, Elmer Saathoff, took many photos during its constuction. Here are some of them.
