Main Street of Moundville, ca. 1910

Early Moundville Main Street Scene. This was before the great fire of 1910. The large white building with the square front was the new IOOF hall that had just been built the year before.

A new means of transportation was noticed in Moundville in 1910. E. C. Ward had a motorcycle that he rode all the way to Nevada one Friday in June 1910. He reported that the roads were very rough for "wheeling" that far. Perhaps that is Mr. Ward in the photo above.
