Reverend James M. Galloway brought his family to Moundville during the 1880's. As early as 1860, he had been listed as a clergyman when he appeared in the census for Wayne County, Tennessee. In that census, he and his sister, Sarah, were enumerated with Eliza Dandridge.
The 1880 census showed the family in Big Creek, Henry County, MO.

The Galloway family moved to Moundville in about 1886.
Just a year later, July 25, 1887, son John Andrew Galloway
died. Burial was in Welborn Cemetery. John had been born
