The William Younger family lived in Deerfield Township, northwest of Moundville before 1900. William and Flora Younger were listed in the 1900 census with six children:

Elmer Younger graduated from Cooper College in Moundville with the class of 1901 and began teaching.

Elmer W. Younger was back in Moundville in late October 1903. He had been teaching at Rinehart School, but had to close it down on October 2 due to his heath. He apparently had pneumonia, so he came home to Moundville and was being attended by Dr. Van Blaricum.

In 1906, William Ewing Younger was named to the Board of Directors of the new Bank of Moundville.

The obituary from the February 20, 1908 Nevada Daily Mail tells that Elmer Younger had died in California of Typhoid Fever. He had been buried there.

The Younger family continued to live in Vernon County. William and Flora are buried at Newton Burial Park in Nevada:

  • William Ewing Younger: June 29, 1855 - February 5, 1943
  • Flora M. (DeBolt) Younger: October 20, 1860 - August 7, 1949
