Five of the children of Joseph and Ellen moved to Missouri - Travis moved to Breckenridge, Caldwell County. Thomas, Joseph F., Elizabeth, and Emily moved to Moundville, Vernon County. Sometimes, Martha was also there occasionally.
How do we spell Rogers? This family has always debated this. Most spell it Rogers, some spell it Rodgers. If you visit Crab Orchard cemetery, you will not answer the question. Joseph's stone says "Joseph Rogers". Ellen's says, "Ellen, wife of Joseph Rodgers."
Further information on this Rogers and collateral Garrard County lines of Stewart and Graham, can be found in my 1994 book, "The Rogers Family of Paint Lick and Crab Orchard." Softbound copies of the book are now available. The price is $20.00 plus shipping.
